Yeah Gary, I caught my first fish at that spot about 30 years ago. Still fish it as often as possible. The bass seem a lot more elusive these days though. I guess they've seen it all by now. Lookin' forward to having you return to this side of the Mississippi. When you get settled, I'll have to meet ya half way, and we'll tell fishing stories while knocking out a bottle of Beam.

Now that is something I miss.. lakes, streams, docks, etc. Your post made me think about my roots in the finger lakes region on NY. As kids we would spend hours fishing for pan fish and large mouth bass in the swampiness of central NY. Since I have been in Utah I may have dropped a line in the water about 10 times in 10 yearws :(. Gettin' back to the roots soon, though! The plan is next summer to move back to the Ithaca area.

BTW the blog is looking great, Mark. Gary M

I wish I could make it, but I think my schedule has reduced me to tentative at best. I'm glad you dropped by though. For those of you who don't know Jeffrey, he's a staff writer for the American Hiking Society, and he operates an awesome blog at americanhiking.chattablogs.com.

I plan to attend the ATC Biennial. I lived in the area for most of my life, and there is some great hiking to be had in the region. Maybe I'll see you there!
