The MSR Zoid 2 is an ultra light tent with room enough for two people and all their gear. It’s loaded with features that make it a superstar. It has high and low vents, and the peak vent is supported by a kickstand. The result is superior ventilation, which is of serious importance in smaller tents – especially when its contents are a couple of sweaty, grimy backpackers. What’s more, it has two individual doors so that you can enter and exit the tent without stepping on your partner’s face. |

There were quite a few pros listed about the Zoid by consumers at both Backcountry.com and Epinions.com. The tent received an overall rating of 4 stars and 5 stars respectively.
These positive remarks were comments about details like the tent’s light weight, versatility, ease of set up, and small packed size. One reviewer mentioned that her husband is 6’ 2" tall and fit comfortably inside.
The cons included limited headroom, the height at the foot section, and the zippers occasionally get stuck. Some noise in the wind was also noted.
Hiker’s Corner Input
The MSR Zoid tent is made primarily of mesh which makes for great ventilation. With a door and vestibule on each side of the tent, gaining entry and exiting is made simpler than with a single door. The design of this tent is virtually identical to the Coleman tent I use, and I can attest to the convenience of the dual doors and vestibules. The Zoid is best suited for overnight and weekend trips under 3 season conditions.
