Katadyn Hiker Water Filter Review

This is a very easy review to make. The Katadyn Hiker water filter is small, light, easy to use, and protects you against Giardia, Cryptosporidium and most bacteria.

Ease of use is one of the factors I look at closely. The pump operates smoothly, and fills at a reasonable rate.

The only thing I would like to see different, would be a little more weight on the end of the pickup tube to help it remain in place in swift creeks.

As a bonus however, the oulet side has an attachment that fits Nalgene widemouth water bottles, and it typically costs less than 60 bucks.

Filter life can be extended by wrapping a coffee filter around the end of the pickup tube, which is true for any filter.
